Art for the Spirit - Paintings by Hugh O'Neill - GALLERY ONE

This is style I've worked in on and off for the past number of years. I spent some time travelling exploring inner and outer worlds and studying with teachers from the yoga/Hindu and Zen Buddhist traditions. This particular style tends to be rapid and explosive and I was often working out of my van in parking lots and on the side of the road so I adopted spray paints as a way create rich fluid backgrounds with ethereal metallic elements which dry very quickly. That way I didn't have to slow down during the process and I could move to building detail straight away using paint pens and acrylics applied with my hands or a brush. It's a great way to bring the image to life when the ideas are moving at speed. I appreciate your feedback so please leave any thoughts or comments by going to the CONTACT page.
